Nico Tsatsoulis to run for 3rd District Commissioner at the Board of Review
Nico announced that he will be on the ballot on November 5th, 2024 running against incumbent Larry Rogers Jr. for the only open position on the Board of Review this election cycle. “The corrupt and profligate Democrats have ruined the finances of Cook County property owners. Owners in the south suburbs and the South and West Sides are hurting the most. I will work hard to restore the financial health of our residents and uproot the devastation the Democratic Party has brought to our communities,” said Nico. This follows a successful run two years ago against incumbent Fritz Kaegi for Cook County Assessor where Nico received over 200,000 votes. Read more about his campaign here
Nico has been living in Hyde Park since the 80's with interruptions in Evanston and Athens, Greece. In November 2022 he ran for Cook County Assessor and was the only challenger to the incumbent Fritz Kaegi in the general election. Over 200,000 Cook County residents thought that Nico was a better choice than the corrupt Democrat. Nico got these votes despite the literal embargo of the corporate legacy media against his candidacy. He is now working on establishing ELMA (Equality in Local Media Accessibility) a non-profit dedicated to advancing equal media access to the underrepresented.
The 5th Ward elected one Libertarian, one Republican and one Democrat Committeeperson as these are the only established political parties in Cook County. Libertarian Committeepersons were elected for the first time in the history of the city of Chicago! The political scenery is changing and the duopoly is fearing the new emerging forces. The 5th Ward together with the 1st, the 36th and the 38th are the only wards that elected a Libertarian committeeperson! This is a great achievement and cause for celebration. Our residents now have a real choice!
The 5th Ward together with other wards was downsized in terms of precincts from 36 to 25 in March 2022. It covers the majority of Hyde Park plus sections of Kenwood, Woodlawn and South Shore.
